Teen (tv?) movie from the 1970s/1980s

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and always wondering what the name was. There's a teenage couple (the girl is blonde). There's a lot of angst about whether they should have sex but they eventually do it in a car in the middle of a rainstorm. The girl gets pregnant...

I'm not 100% sure if they have the baby. There's a scene where they're in the woods somewhere (maybe a cabin) and the girl is laying down outside. I think she gives birth(?); I remember there's a closeup of a lizard as she's possibly giving birth. Idk I really did not understand that part of the movie.

I think they do have a baby because they stay together. The other scenes I remember are: the guy talking with an older female co-worker- it seems like he's cheating on the girlfriend with the co-worker. And, the girlfriend waiting home for him in a darkened kitchen. He comes home and they start arguing.

If you're open to the possibility that the girl was a redhead, not a blonde, it could be For Keeps? with Molly Ringwald and Randall Batinkoff. She gets pregnant, they get married and live in a crummy apartment, and when the baby is a few months old, he comes home to find the electricity was cut off because they're in way over their heads with hospital payments and everything else. They have a huge argument about budgeting, and he goes out for a beer. He doesn't quite cheat on her, but he is tempted.

That said, they had sex in a camping tent, not a car, she gives birth in a hospital, and as said before, she was not blonde.

Sorry it was not Molly Ringwald. Pretty sure none of the actors were "names". The girl was a blonde with a vague resemblance to Helen Slater and Farrah Fawcett (checked their IMDBs- not them). This was tv-movie quality. I would say it's a tv movie, except I don't think they ran tv movies in the middle of the day on network television.

That one came to mind, too, in terms of the debate and then they get pregnant and it's a very difficult situation. I was really struck by the ending where you realize that the dad could've gone to college on a music scholarship, but he's working some kind of fast food/ice cream, and he ends up waiting on his old school friends who are home from college.

No memory of the woods or a lizard though. :-)

Sadly not this one either. Ha, I probably would not remember this movie if it weren't for that lizard scene; it really freaked me out as a kid, I thought she was giving birth to a lizard.

Sorry no that's not it. The one I'm thinking of was set later in time, probably the late 70s or 80s.
