When the govt pays to subsidize your living, e.g., section 8 housing, CARE, WIC, food stamps, when do those benefits stop? Is it a one time deal? Do they pay taxes on those benefits? Are those benefits supposed to be for life?
How about medicare for all? Is that a one time payment or is that for life? How about free college? Is that one time or for life?
So in China, did they give their citizens a stimulus check? A free coupon to KFC? Anything? They're even more socialist than we are. No? Why not, pray tell?

You should tell Daddy this was a socialist move on his part. Also tell him that since his ego runs the country, the fact that checks are being held up for the most needy, just so he has his name printed on each check, will help ruin him in November.

Agreed. Capitalism seems unfair but every ones quality of life is leaps and bounds ahead of the average commey. On the other hand communism seems fair only when you consider every one starves and dies equally.
