Capitalism Needs an Underclass

Capitalism needs poor people to do low-paying jobs. The government needs to miseducate a portion of the population to remain unskilled in order to do the low-paying jobs.

One solution is the the Nordic Economic Model which gives more rights to workers and regulates businesses.

Another is to introduce a base income in which everyone would receive a check every month to raise their income.

Although, neither gets rid of the under-class with low-paying jobs.

Thoughts? Solutions?

Last time I checked the education you get is up to the students.

No, it's not. There is a huge difference in quality among public schools. And expensive private schools are usually better than public schools with better resources.

There is a reason why people tend to be born and die within in their own social-economic group.

I'll also add that moving up or down to another social-economic class requires learning an entirely different skill set.

some people are born smart, some are not. I am just average person and have a average job. look at Elon Musk, he is a genius and went to College at 17. not everyone is going to have the mental acuity to start a Space-X or Microsoft. its just the way it is. to say a person with an average IQ is going to succeed just because they went to expensive private school is a fallacy. Paris Hilton and Nikki both had the same opportunities, Nikki started her own business and Paris did nothing.

you would need teachers that actually cared and encouraged their students at every school as well. every teacher will need the same training and pay as well, thats never going to happen. its a utopian dream, it might happen in 2421, but for now, things will be the same as they always have been. even though technology is changing at a dramatic pace, humanity has slowed to a crawl.

Paris did nothing? She created a multi-billion dollar business empire and she has a net worth of $300 million dollars. She and her sister knew their inheritance was going to be small ($5.6 million each), so they found ways to make more money.

"Hilton has been busy creating a billion-dollar brand. A whopping 18 perfumes (the newest one a limited 10th-anniversary edition) have resulted in $2 billion in sales; she has 56 eponymous branded stores in the Middle East and Asia selling her line of handbags; and she’s got 16 licenses across the categories of clothing, accessories, beauty and watches. Then there’s an entire DJ and recording-artist career. Her business, Paris Hilton Entertainment, now has hundreds of employees."

The Hiltons grew up in an environment which allowed them to learn entrepreneurship and they already knew other rich people who could help them.

perfumes? really? every celebrity has cologne or perfumes. she is not running the company thats for sure, she just gives her input and other people do it cause she is a Hilton and rich. to say Paris is a business woman is a insult to all the women who went to school and created businesses from scratch. she is an entitled socialite and gets anything she wants.

Its all in name only.

have you seen her new cooking show? she is a complete moron...

reply

Perfume with over $2.5 billion in sales!

She's playing dumb. People like to laugh and it helps her popularity.

Whatever she's doing is working extremely well since it gave her a $300 million dollar net worth.

Meanwhile, Tori Spelling and her husband are only worth $1.5 million. She inherited $800,000 from her father and hasn't figured how to increase it.

reply

if you think Paris is some sort of genius, then that makes Trump the smartest businessman to have ever lived!

The Trump name is everywhere and he was even President! until it was stolen by the deep state...

reply

Trump inherited $413 million from his father and lost all of it. He's a moron.

How many millions do you have and how did you make it?

reply

actually it was only a million, and he turned it into a global empire...

in my life time I have probably made at least 750,000 but thats spread out over a lot of years.

Nope. It was $413 million! His grandmother and father built the real estate business.

His father repeatedly bailed him out.

Eventually, the banks gave him millions each month to help his "success" image rather than see him default on his loans.

Trump was great at BSing success. The banks along with his father went along with it by enabling him.

After his father died, Trump liquidated the real estate empire for much needed cash. And the TV show brought in more money.

Most of his businesses failed.

The $1 million lie was debunked years ago. You need a better news source.

Every system WILL have poor people and low paying jobs.

Stop spreading your idiocy and take that fkn white pointy hat off.

reply

How about the roboutopia? Where robots control every faucet of society and humans do absolutely no work.

reply

If you haven't figured out yet that giving away money without production causes massive inflation you will soon.

reply

Inflation is caused by too much liquidity. Central banks around the world are printing money creating global inflation.

reply

Liquidity and money in the system are the same thing lol.

When you have too many dollars chasing too few goods the prices go up. When you have people receiving money for doing nothing they are doing nothing to help supply the goods.

reply

The Fed is supposed to stop money printing in 2022. Of course, the stock market usually tanks when they do.

BTW, I repeatedly warned GQPers on MC to return their stimulus checks, but they refused.

reply

Socialism needs poor people who are dependant on handouts. At least capitalism offers some hope.

reply

What is YOUR definition of Socialism and Capitalism?

reply

I like this analogy: A capitalist sees a mansion and says "Everyone should live like this!"

A Socialist sees a mansion and says "No one should live like this!"

Of course in a Capitalist society there is the hope of success. In a Socialist society the only people living in that mansion will be the Leaders. Everyone else will be in poverty.

reply

I have the impression that you're confusing Socialism with Communism. Not the same thing.

A more accurate analogy is:

A Capitalist sees a mansion and says "I should live like this and I want 10 of them for myself! Screw everyone else!!!"

A Communist sees a mansion and says "No one should live like this!"

A Socialist sees a man living in squalor and says "No one should live like this!"

Socialism attempts to prevent common people from falling into poverty and raising their living standards. In the U.S, you can get cancer and lose your job, house and life savings. In Canada and most Western countries, your illness wouldn't bankrupt you.

Capitalism creates poor people by paying substandard wages in order for the Capitalist to buy his 10 mansions.

"At least capitalism offers some hope."
Hope doesn't pay the rent. Socialism DELIVERS by raising salaries and living standards of common people.

Socialism = Canada; Germany; Nordic Model; most of Europe (They have Capitalism! but protect the little guy, too)

American-style Capitalism is too pro-big business and screw everyone. Extremes are never good.
