Any excitement for Ford?

Ford introduces the new Shelby GT350 with a flat plane crank. Rare these days for a V-8 especially for an American car. Flat plane cranks are better associated with many Itallian performance cars. However the future does not bold well for V-8s for both American and European cars. I think American may try to hold out die to our love of a V-8 burble, but even a flat plane crank does not give us our American burble.

The performance that this engine should provide the GT350 with sounds very impressive. And it is well under the price of its in class competitors. Honestly thinking I might need to look into a test drive...

How about Ford deciding to get backnin the ring and battle against Ferrari at Le Mans? I am really excited about the new Ford GT. The V-6 platform that Ford has developed sounds impressive! I think the use of this engine and its performance at Le Mans might be how Ford attempts to sway people away from the V-8. Either way I thinknit is great that Ford has updated the GT and wants to compete in Le Mans. I wish there was a greater following of Le Mans here in the States. I will bot bash Nascar but it is not my thing. I just thinknit is cool that Ford is stepping up in the supercar realm and forging forward with the GT.

You're right, a flat-plane crank doesn't sound anything like what Americans expect from a V8.

Some love the sound. Others hate it. But it seems weird to me putting a flat-plane V8 in a Mustang.

Even though there are definite advantages to the design, it just doesn't seem to fit.
