I see four new optional patches dropped:

SFC integrity scan reports and fixes an error in the usbhub.sys.mui file in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Reliability Rollup KB 3179930/3179949 for .NET Framework 4.5.x and 4.6.x. This seems to be two updates combined. The KB number in Windows Update is 3179930, but the linked Knowledge Base entry is 3179949.

I'm going to sit tight. The last two (the rollups) look useful, but I'm going to wait before installing anything.

EDIT: On Woody Leonhard's site (https://www.askwoody.com/) at least one user is reporting problems with the first update, KB3181988. Apparently KB3181988 is a fix for the Convenience rollup (KB3125574), and may cause problems if installed on a machine where KB3125574 has not been installed.

As for the second update, KB3184143, I agree with one of the posters on Woody's site who wrote:

KB3184143 might be useful for those infected with the gwx malware i suppose but since i only have KB3146449 installed (included in one of the IE cumulative updates) and nobody has any real evidence of how it’s triggered why bother. Meh

Oh, and I hid the latest time zone change for Russia!

I'm taking the plunge and installing all 5, with a batch file at the ready to uninstall them all, should any problems arise from doing so. Superfluity I can handle; so long as it doesn't break or otherwise unfavourably alter my system, I don't mind having the latest updates installed.

Edit: After rebooting I've yet to encounter any problems after installing the 5 updates. However, I'm now being offered (as optional) KB3177467 - Servicing stack update for Windows 7 SP1... - from 20th September.

Thanks for the report Coldheart. I plan to wait a few more days and then install the two rollups. I'll post an update when I have done so.

I also installed KB3177467, with no prompt to reboot and no problems so far. Yeah, please do let us know how you got on with your updates when you do install them.

I installed the big patch tonight:

September 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

The install went smoothly and there are no apparent issues after the reboot. I'll wait a couple of days to make sure things are good, and then install the .NET roll-up.

KB3177467 has not been offered to me yet.

I installed the Reliability Rollup KB 3179930 for .NET Framework 4.5.x and 4.6.x. tonight.

It acted like I already had it installed. The progress dialog box said it was creating a restore point for a long time, and then suddenly it said the install was successful. And there were no "Configuring Windows" messages during shutdown and subsequent boot-up.

I tested this roll-up with my installation of Paint.NET and there were no problems.

I still haven't seen KB3177467 in Windows Update.
