After many years, I've suddenly remembered a comedy from around 98/99/2000, about a young couple who met on a plane on the way home from Spain. On the plane each had their own friend with them. I think they were either Londoner or Essex.

If I'm thinking of the same show, Abby from My Family was the girl (or her best pal) and there was something to do with the girl hadn't told her ex she was leaving him until he showed up at the airport. Also, a lottery win or some other cash windfall was involved. Perhaps the guy or his best mate was involved with a football club too.
The show never got much past a half dozen episodes where I caught it and, of course, was never aired again over here.
I think it was just vaguely like dozens of other comedies (Gavin & Stacey; A to Z; Mad Love) that have aired since then. I wouldn't mind finding it on YT or somewhere like that on the internet though.

Just googled it - that's the one! Wow, takes me back to the 90s. It was a bit less subtle than Gavin & Stacey though (like most comedies pre-Royle Family).
