Can I get a DVD music HiFi (mp3)?

one that works like an iPod or mp3 player in that I can choose to play songs via artist, genre, etc.

and you can do it on the HIFIs little screen you don't have to plug into TV

does such a device exist??
Or do I basically have to buy a DVD video player, even though I will only be using mp3s on dvd

I doubt it. While there were a lot of MP3 portable CD players (they'd play MP3 files that had been burned to a CDR or CDRW), the closest you're likely to get is a portable DVD player. Better to get something like a Sansa Clip+ MP3 player and stuff a 32GB uSD card in it. Or use a smartphone or tablet. Or build your own outof a Raspberry Pi or maybe an Arduino. Or use an obsolete laptop.

yup, you're right.

I think I'll just get one of those wireless bluetooth speakers and plug-in an mp3 player/ipad xP

come to think of it you're right a portable DVD player would be good also

expensive still though, for a good one

that is exactly what I mean. Is that thing for real?

reply

Yeah it's real haha... but if you want to navigate tracks easily you'd be better off with something like this, which actually has a proper display screen: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MHC-GZR333i-Karaoke-Boombox-Component/dp/B00EVA73FU

 haha wow very nice

Sony bring the goods once again, in the realms of stereo hifi 🔊

pricy though, I doubt I'll be getting something like that any time soon

P.S. in the end btw I got a good-quality bluetooth speaker to play my music through phone or mp3 player
