What is your favourite movie?

I've a few but if stretched I would have to say Rocky or maybe Betty Blue (37°2 le matin) at a push.

What about you?

Local Hero...a Scottish treasure

reply

Although, not my very favorite movie, Local Hero is in the top ten. It's such a great movie.

reply

How are you people even picking these?! I find it difficult to name my favorite of anything. It could change from week to week, haha....so I'm impressed you all have answers!

reply

Same. I can never pick favorites, and even top 10 lists are hard for me.

reply

Agreed, the list is always alive.

reply

Hah! I love that, "the list is always alive." Like it's own, living, breathing thing...geez, that's a bit terrifying to think of how many I shift through in my own catalog!

reply

My favorite films are like friends. There are times when I prefer to share my time with one over another.

reply

Friends is a good way to view them, haha. It's nice that other people feel that personal about their favorites. It's hard for me to explain that I can take stuff personally when I'm watching things or if an actual friend really hates on something I like...it's like I take a mini-hit!

reply

Lol, I agree 100%. My favorites almost constantly change, especially as new movies come out.
Also like the idea of the list being "alive" and having a mind of it's own. ;3

Strange Days (1995)

The most underrated movie ever, way ahead of its time! (directed by Kathryn Bigelow and screenplay by James Cameron)
Best movie, best soundtrack, best trailer and best on-screen kiss... till this day.
And speaking about the trailer...

you must see this

reply

Love this movie, cast and soundtrack. Absolute gem of a film.

Another fine Bigelow film with a Cameron connection is Near Dark, which reunited three cast members from Aliens: Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen and Jeannette Goldstein. It's one of the VERY best vampire movies, and the word "vampire" is nowhere in the script. Paxton's performance is a gem. "It's finger-lickin' good!!"

reply

YES!!!!!!!! Ralph Fiennes is to die for!!!! That kiss he lays on Angela Bassett in the end in the series on screen kiss I ever seen!!!! HOT!!!! The movie is excellent as well LOL 😃😃😃😃

It's really hard to pick one movie as a favorite. I don't have a favorite song either because I love so many.
I will say that I rarely watch a movie more than once or twice, but 'Notorious' is one that I can watch any number of times and I enjoy it just as much each time. It's just so beautifully crafted.
