IMDb regretting boards closure?

What you think?

I don’t even use IMDb anymore.

Add a “trivia” section on here - and I won’t even have to use any other site for films ;)

Google tells you cast info and other facts.

Screw 'em (im sure they are those dummies)
Fingers crossed we get trivia, goofs, locales, budgets, soundtrack lists etc here but for now all is well
We do need to support this site with quality traffic and to that end very nice post!
Pleased to meet you btw:)

Well, frankly I still miss it. I would even pay a small fee , say as much as $11.99 for the message boards at IMDb. I like it here very much, but it's not the same traffic.

reply

Probably not. But time will tell.

How would you even be able to tell?

Has everyone seen the new redesigned "look" that those idiots have come up with recently at that site? I happen to think it's hideous, and impractical, too, because it makes it harder, not easier, to find the information about a film or actor that you're looking for.

Not only that, but in the same manner that they pissed-off those off us who frequented the msg boards, they've now PO-ed the people who write copious reviews there because they reordered how you can access them by sorting them into a "most helpful" tree, which means positive and fawning reviews will usually be the ones you're forced to read fist.

That site is all but dead to me now. I used to use it a lot just to check release dates of films, but since this site mirrors much of their general data, I can get that here. I'll still go there a little to check cast lists and perhaps get a filmography for certain actors/actresses, but aside from that, there's no reason to go there.

Yeah, I was trying to find info on IMDb, but couldn't since they changed their look. It's a mess.

reply

Wikipedia doesn't always list the complete cast of a movie or tv series or all the credits of an actor, so I still check it out for that kind of info.
