Guilty pleasures

You know they're not good, but you don't care. What are your movie or TV guilty pleasures?

Lately I've been all about action movies from the 80s and 90s: Nighthawks, Sudden Death, Universal Soldier, Daylight, Rambo (especially 2 and 3,) The Punisher 1989, Commando, Bloodsport, and on and on

Gotham

I've been meaning to try Gotham. DC in the movies has been less than satisfying lately (to put it nicely) but I've found some of the TV outings very good, particularly Flash

reply

You won't regret with gotham,it's a good show...at least in my opinion

reply

I watched Gotham at first. It got a little off track and hard to follow

reply

A movie or show only has to be entertaining to be successful for me, to me that is what is most important. So I have watched a lot of crap cinema in my time. Troma and Charles Band are not know for their high quality films but many of them are sure entertaining.

reply

I really like Toxie

reply

Terminator 3 and Genisys.

reply

Enjoyed both! Also agree on excluding Salvation.

reply

The Room!

A couple of years ago I discovered Domestic Disturbance as entertaining crap.

Lifetime movies and cheap action movies and thrillers from the 80s and 90s are often also entertaining.

reply

Oh Domestic Disturbance! Going to watch it right now

reply

I have to watch it every time it's on. I love how the son seems to age two years in one day.

The Wraith, with Charlie Sheen: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092240/

reply

This was a fine example of 80's horror/thriller/cheese...LOVE IT!

reply

Time for a sequel, The Wraith Wreturns!

I bet Charlie Sheen will finance it.

reply

I would so watch that!

Can Charlie even finance lunch at Denny's at this point though?

reply

First saw this only a year ago and it's a perfect example of a guilty pleasure. It might be my favorite Charlie Sheen movie

reply

This movie is great. Great soundtrack, setting, characters, Sherilyn Fenn is crazy hot, ect.

Hope it gets a NA blu ray release at some point.

reply

But those Italian and Japanese blu-rays are multi-region releases, so they'll work. I see Amazon has used copies of the Italian release for under $20, I might have to pick one up.

I'd only known about the Japanese release before, which is too expensive, but I thought I remember reading it was a collector's edition with some great special features.

It's a good box: http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/71pxIBpZlWL._AA1075_.jpg

I can't find any info on features. I know I already have the DVD, though, and it probably has the commentary track that I saw mentioned as being excluded from the blu-rays.

Some great examples there!
Cannon was a hell of a production house...Dudikoff, Iron Eagle, assorted Ninja shenanigans
The Cannon films were pure silly fun

reply

Yeah, for a kid in the '80s, obsessed with ninjas and martial arts films, The Cannon Group really supplied the goods. Can't imagine my childhood without them.

reply

Me neither!
My dumb freinds and i gave each other so many face and crotch punches im suprised we are all still alive and functioning lol
No lie...we all really hurt each other😖
My best buddie broke my nose just playfighting

reply

I hear ya. My friends and I would make Ninja stars out of cardboard and black electrical tape and throw them at each other. I'm surprised no one lost an eye. lol.

reply

Oh boy was it fun (and bloody!) to be a boy

Good times

reply

Indeed.

reply
