Opinions on "Batman Forever" (1995)?

I remember there was a lot of hype to the movie right before its release but heard a lot of negativity once it was released.

I thought it was fun and enjoyable. A 7/10 for me.

I'd agree with this assessment. It was fun enough but it apparently was a slippery slope down to the full campiness of Batman and Robin.

reply

Agreed, it's fun and action-packed, and just as Camp as a comic book movie can be!

Jim Carrey is incredibly over the top, but in a way that somehow works, since yeah - the whole film is so fantastical.

reply

Second from the bottom of the franchise, just before Batman and Robin. 5/10

I like the soundtrack, particularly the Seal and U2 songs.

reply

Hey, you know there's a Batman Forever board, right? :)

reply

I do but feel I could get more opinions on here

reply

I thought the Bat-Nips were not called for

Weird:/

This is more apparent in "Batman + Robin", but trying to make a hybrid of kitsch and "cool" is basically a paradoxical style choice. I'm not one to say it's not possible, but these films fail to pull it off in my opinion.

reply

I prefer the Burton movies.

Soundtrack kicked ass

I haven’t seen it in 20 years but did see it multiple times and liked it better than Batman Returns. Second best out of the first 4 Batman movies and probably a 7/10 back in the day but a 6/10 now since I doubt it has aged well.
