What is the name of the genre of TV shows where people play a parody of themselves?

I feel like there is a proper word/term that I just can't think of that describes TV shows where people play heightened, fictionalized versions of themselves where truth is mixed with fiction - a term for shows like Episodes, Curb Your Enthusiasm, the recent Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot, etc... I thought it might be something like "meta" but I think that term is a little too broad, or is it? Someone help please!

The word is parody and you already used it.

A great example is Life's Too Short, where Warwick Davis plays a fictionalised parody version of himself.

I agree that parody is the actual term, but there are different types of parodies. For example, reality shows are one. Mockumentaries or docucomedies are one. So there's no specific name for all parodies - they fall into categories.
