Do you think $18 is a bit much for a bottle of red wine?
It’s normally $24.99, really good cabarnet. I’m having a hard time finding a good alternative.

shareIf you like it then that's not too much. I'm not a wine guy. Gives me a headache. I do enjoy a good mimosa though.
shareCheap cooking wine is the way to go!

shareSo did you buy it???? Let us know how it was.
I don't drink a lot of Cabs - I like Old Vine Zins and enjoy Gnarly Head for around $10 - $12. Have you ever tried that?
We have wine with dinner almost every night so I try a lot of wines that are $10 and under. Some are surprisingly good. I save the more expensive stuff for parties or special occasions. I don't think I've ever paid more than $30 for a bottle of wine but I did go to a sales meeting once where one of the guys ordered a $300 bottle of something. It was the worst tasting stuff I ever had.
Not really. I once spent $220 for a bottle of Dom Perignon. But it was a bargain, cause they usually go for $300 plus.
Not bragging here, just providing perspective. BTW, it was excellent!
😎
I guess it depends on context.
Here are five of the most expensive bottles of red wine ever sold:
1. Screaming Eagle Cabernet 1992 – $500,000
2. Chateau Margaux 1787 – $225,000
3. Chateau Lafite 1787 – $156,450
4. Cheval Blanc 1947 Saint-Emilion – $135,125
5. Penfolds Grange Hermitage 1951 – $38,420
To be fair that Screaming Eagle was a 6-liter bottle.
shareThe secret is buying one good bottle and then loads of cheap stuff because once you've had the good bottle, by the time you're on your second or third, you won't care anymore.
shareLOL
shareLiterally how I buy wine. A nice bottle to go with dinner, and then a box of wine to get wrecked after.
