People are starting to get a tad cranky

Has anyone else noticed this?

First people seemed shellshocked, then a nice period of solidarity and unusual friendliness. Now it seems like it's starting to wear on people and the crankiness is coming out.

Come on, we can get through this. Let's hang together!

reply

Yep. Here's hoping things don't get too ugly. But some people can't take long periods of being cooped up.

reply

I sure hope so πŸ™πŸ€ž

But we're a damned creative species, so I have to believe we'll get more creative in finding ways to combat being cooped up.

reply

STARTING???

It's been three weeks, I started getting mega-cranky on the second day!

The first was reserved for shell-shock.

reply

😁 for Otter.

At Lady there are no zombies. Yet. for Catbookss.

Thank God we can still buy alcohol and drugs and get cable TV. For R_Kane and froggieandtoadie2.

reply

"At Lady there are no zombies."

Getting a late start on the alcohol and drugs?

reply

We're not having the Zombie Apocalypse, it's only the Corona Countdown. With drugs, cable, and internet, wheeee!

reply

So far, but I'm still keeping an ear out for reports of the dead rising from their graves.

reply

This ☝️

reply

The second day?! 😬

Lightweight! πŸ˜„

reply

At least my pets are happy!

But then, they seem to regard me as a piece of heated furniture that dispenses food. Which BTW, someone ought to invent for humans.

reply

Would the food-dispensing heated furniture be for our use or to give us a break from attending to our pets? Because you *know* they'd take over food-dispensing heated furniture v2.0 too. Then we'd be back at square one! 😬

reply

Oh, my heated, food-dispensing furniture would be for humans! Because the pets already have their own heated, food-dispensing furniture!

Wouldn't that be perfect, for those evenings when going into the kitchen or adjusting the thermostat is just too much trouble?

reply

Probably from feeling isolated

reply

That's part of it for sure. It's a weird time for everyone. A lot of uncertainty too and that's bound to get on people's nerves.

Time to be as kind as we can to everyone, including ourselves.

reply

That's true Cat

reply

On that note, here's something for you, Eucalyptus ❀️

reply

thanks Cat straight back at you LOVE

reply

Yes,it's gonny get only worse. It shows how actually 'happy' families and couples are.

reply

I been involved in 2 disputes, here on movie chat tonight. And one of them was definitely my fault.

reply

I'm sorry. That sucks.

I got cranky with my personal organiser/moving guy the other day. May have had some reason because he dropped a ball, but it's really no excuse. Everyone's got reason for dropping balls or whatever it is they're doing or not doing. I need to apologise to him. And do better.

reply

Oh, the one where I was quilty, I quickly apologized. I knew it was wrong
But I did it.
The other is just another skirmish, between the crips and the bloods.
So I agree, something in the air.

reply

Good for you! I'm slacking on the taking responsibility and apologising front 😐

Crips and bloods skirmish, ha!

I suspect the jump to everyone or most everyone wearing masks over the past few days has stepped things up a notch.

reply

MY APPOLOGIES...THAT SOMETHING IN THE AIR IS ALL THOSE PHEROMONES YOUVE BEEN PUTTING OUT...WANNA WRESTLE?

reply

I like how aggressive you are. That's hot.
Do you have a barn, with hay?

reply

I HAVE BOTH...ANY CONFIGURATION YOU LIKE...SPOILER ALERT...IT DOESNT END WITH ME HOG TYING YOU...THATS JUST THE BEGINNING.

reply

Not just people

I just watched this two times in a row and then sent it to a friend. So. Good. 🀣

reply

Everyone is being pretty cool hereπŸ‘
Makes me happy to see how solid most people are under very odd conditions:)

I talked with my neighbor today, he invited me over for a few beers with him and his father in law tomorrow

All of my locals seem a bit more stunned at not currently working than nasty or stressed out with each other

reply

I haven't noticed any extra crankiness, but I haven't been out for a couple of weeks, except for walks around the neighborhood. Who knows what it'll be like when I finally grocery shop in a couple of days?

With that said, last Tuesday we experienced a wonderful spring day - sunny and 70. Mrs Neighbor and I met in the alley for a drink. We sat in the sun on a neighbor's driveway to visit, keeping our distance, of course. A few minutes later we wandered up the alley to see if any other neighbors were out. We ended up sitting in the backyard of another neighbor for an hour - again, keeping our distance. Boy, was it nice to get out and talk to people!

Two days later, I woke up to snow on the ground! Not much, but all day long we had intermittent snow showers. It was like living in a snow globe, but one that was constantly being shaken, because it was so windy that day. Swirling snow for 30 minutes, then a pause, then more snow. Lather, rinse, repeat, all day long. Weird.

reply

The first part sounds lovely! And very welcome. We are social creatures by nature.

Too bad about the return of the snow, but at least there's not much of it.
