Why do microwaves now start cooking the minute you hit a number?

This is idiotic, instead of letting you enter the exact time you want, say a 1:45 it automatically starts cooking at the first number you hit. 2 = 2 minuets, etc. Now if you want to cook a specific time that is not an exact full minute number you have to first enter “timed cook.” This should be the other way around, times cook should be the default, just like in the past enter your cook time and hit the “start” button which is separated from the other buttons and easy to hit without looking. Fucking drives me insane.

Ok, whilst I have scant knowledge about the room of the cooking, I do know enough to be able to say that our microwave does not do what yours does.

I just bought a new microwave. Yeah it does that. It's a toshiba. It's a good oven and I have gotten used to it now.

MAYBE YOUR MICROWAVE IS GAY...GIVE IT SOME TIME...PERHAPS IT WILL OPEN ITS DOOR TOYOU AND SHARE WHAT ITS BEEN COOKING UP.

My current one does this, as did the one I had before it. It is annoying. It's hardly an improvement on being able to enter 1-3-0 and start or 1-0-0 and start.

Hitting the start button gets you 30 seconds or 30 additional seconds, but that doesn't make up for it.
