IMO things have never been the same since then. Yeah, this site is okay, but not nearly as active.
I guess I just didn't realize it has been a whole five years. They seemed to go by fast.
I lost many online friends when they shut down those boards. Most people never matriculated over to here. Sad.
Still bugs me that I left many years of posts behind. I think there was an option to extract comments but I was too pissed off to do it - which was a mistake - though I probably would have lost them by now anyway.

Interesting that they didn't keep the forums up for reference and simply disallow new posts. It was a great source of information. Nope. They nuked the whole thing as though there was something in it they considered dangerous.

shareThis is a good time to shatter once and for all the myth about IMDb shut down the boards because of "trolls". The true two reasons for IMDb shut down the boards:
1. IMDb and Amazon wants to move the users to Facebook
2. Protect production companies, movies and celebrities from criticism.
Damn. Can't believe it's already been that long.
