Don’t you hate when actors in a franchise say they latter don’t like that character?

It’s quite ungrateful to the fans. Thousands of people loved you for that role, even if that franchise was critically hated or isn’t that prestigious it’s the character that made them stars.

It does bother me a lot.

Yes and no.

I didn't like how upset John Cusack was at Savage Steve Holland for "Better Off Dead" (1985) and "One Crazy Summer" (1986). He said something like he felt scammed because he wanted to be a serious actor, and didn't realize how silly the final products would turn out to be. C'mon... he read the scripts and was basically in every scene in both films. Bull Shit that he didn't know what kind of movies he was making. Years later, both films became cult classics, and Cusack decides to change his tune and speak well of them. However, I don't ever remember hearing him apologize to Savage Steve Holland for being a complete prick.

On the other hand, I was glad when Mark Hamill spoke out against Rian Johnson's interpretation of Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi.

Teri Garr, even in her younger days, once said that EVERY role she ever played was "just a job" and that she had a hard time even remembering most of them.
