Is the high school you went to still open and still standing?

The high school I went to permanently closed about 10 years ago and the building was bulldozed and now has houses built on it.

Although having said that they moved to that premises the year I left and when I was at the school they were based in a former church building which still stands and has since reverted back to being a church.

Still there and expanded greatly from when I went there.

YES...ALI IS IN CLASS AT THE VERY SAME HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT NOW.

reply

Does she have any of the same teachers that you had?

reply

NOPE...I GRADUATED 25 YEARS AGO...AS FAR AS I CAN TELL...ALL MY TEACHERS HAVE MOVED ON OR HAVE BEEN BURIED.

reply

Those pics aren't loading for me.

My old high school is still standing, yes. However, my junior high school and one of the grammar schools I attended previously are no longer around.

Looks ok from what I can see, but the background music they used sounds really distorted.

reply

Mine is still open.

Which proves that I am a law-abiding and forbearing citizen, because I haven't burned it down.

reply

LOL

reply

Yep. My high school is relatively new, and it opened the year when I first started (2000.)

Mine was demolished and rebuilt.

Your "new" school is the perfect example of how much I hate modern architecture. The first pic looks nice. That's a school that looks historic, well-designed and I'd definitely want to attend. But that second pic is just sad. There are too many buildings that look like that. It's an attempt to make things look futuristic by using straight shapes, lack oof detail, and keeping white and grey colours to make everything look clean. I absolutely hate it. It looks so lifeless and lacks identity. Sorry for the rant, but I'm passionate about this because it's not getting any better and soon most big cities are going to look like that.

reply

I agree with you, modern architecture like that is hideous and will probably date quite badly.

reply

50% of Toronto looks like that now and I hate it. I no longer recognize my city.

reply

I remember that thread you did about it, lots of generic glass and steel structures.
