Amazing, I cannot think of another actor/writer/director that has given the public more good movies, both serious and comedic, and somewhere in between. Thanks Woody!

His artistic track record is impeccable. He understands humanity, philosophy, and how to make the two intersect in great stories. My compliments on a great top-seventeen there. Match Point always finds its way to the top of my favourites as well, and I think it's criminally underrated.

Ever read any of his non-film stuff? His plays or comedy articles?

I have not. Maybe I have something to look forward to in the future. I am thinking about getting his new book just to see what it is about and what he has to say. All these amazing people are getting so old now and I just want Woody and others to go on forever.

He's got a few collections of material: Without Feathers, Getting Even, Side Effects, and Mere Anarchy (the only one I haven't read/don't own)

Here's a link to one of the stories, Mr. Big, which was the first one I read (the first I'd heard about them!)

Since the quarantine for us in CA, I bought the new Woody autobiography.
I was hesitant about it because I usually buy non-fiction about science,
psychology, sociology, politics, not autobiography, but I have to say Woody's
"Apropos of Nothing" is really excellent. I never imagined it would be so
interesting and funny in a humble down to Earth way, not so personally
revealing. I'd rate it a 5/5 and recommend it.

reply

I'm getting it for sure, and looking forward to it immensely.

reply

Yeah, Apropos is fantastic

Are there any “Casandra’s Dream” fans out there? It’s one of my favs, and I’m always surprised that it rarely gets mentioned

reply

For some reason that was one of the Woody Allen movies I don't care too much for. It was so dark and negative and I never cared for any of the characters or whatever they were about, they were all jerks. What is it that you liked about that movie?

reply

It is so amazing that one person could make all those movies, good and bad, and they were so much fun. I liked Shadows and Fog, also Deconstructing Harry and Interiors too. Didn't like Bananas.

Don't see Whatever Works ... pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty conspicuous. ;)
