as respectfully as possible: Has he ever had an original idea?

Jonny english is a rip off of the credit card commercials
Mr bean was inspired by 'Mr. Hulot'
The thin blue line is more less a remake of dads army.

reply

They weren't his ideas so it's pretty irrelevant.

Johnny English is based on the credit card commercials, which also starred Atkinson.

I wouldn't say Bean and Mr Hulot are all that similar apart from "buffoon getting things wrong" which is as old as the hills.

Also, the Thin Blue Line is nothing like Dad's Army.

But then, whether they are or not, Atkinson didn't write any of them.

i dis agree he has a writign credit on every show i listed.

reply

He didn't create any of the shows. Contributing to the writing on certain episodes means nothing in regards to the whole shows being similar to other.

And, no, he doesn't have any writing credits for The Thin Blue Line or Johnny English.

why would i be jelous, he clearly still 80% of his ideas from other people?

reply

It's nothing to believe, you just have to look at the credits to see that he did not create the films/series you mentioned, therefore they were not his ideas. That IS usefull information to your question.
