Anyone know what kind of person he's like in real life?

A friend and I were comparing Rowan Atkinson to Peter Sellers. Both were somewhat similar in how they acted. So I looked up both Atkinson and Sellers and as I expected, Peter Sellers had been married four times before his death. I do know that Sellers was an awful man in real life and horrible to his kids. But I got into Atkinson's bio on here and saw that he has been married since 1990 and has 2 children with his wife. So my friend and I agreed that since Atkinson has been successfully married for the past 21 years, he must be a good guy and good to his family, unlike Sellers.

I read in an interview, that he's quite shy, and he has a bit of a stutter. He seems so sweet, I'm sure he is :)

My sister's friend was in London a few months ago and she and her brother saw Rowan and were very excited because they had never met a celebrity before - and they said he was very rude and and seemed conceited... when I heard this my heart broke because, who hasn't seen Mr. Bean? I hope it's not true!!

If you think people recognise him all the time. He's not gonna get excited about everyone who speaks to him. Just think about yourself, i'm sure you're not chirpy 24/7 so why should he be?. Celebrities are in it for the attention, he's not a celebrity he's an actor/preformer!!

u lookin at me or are u chewing a brick? either way you're gonna lose some teeth

He's shy....but brainy.

Reading some of the comments here, I see some say he's shy, but kind or rude. I never met him, but I hope he's a kind man. I've enjoyed him as Mr. Bean for a long time and other characters.

Seems like he'd be a family man. I think he still suffers from a stutter from his younger days, that's why he doesn't like doing interviews. I think he'd be quite intelligent, but doesn't act it (like me), shy, reserved, quiet, but would protect his friends and family highly.

You're just a freak...like ME!

Keep in mind that often shy people are mistaken for being rude - we live in a world of extroverts where everybody is expected to be outgoing and friendly, so if someone is shy many people don't recognize that and think the person is stuck up or rude.

He has problems saying the name, Bob.
