Why is the Mr. Bean's Holiday film so extremely bad ?

I'm in the US, that I believe is the last market to get the Mr. Bean's Holiday film,
after most other foreign countries have had it open months earlier, but after having
seen it, want to ask Rowan fans, why it's so extremely bad. It's pretty obvious he
did the film for the money, so it's a good thing he's said he has no plans for any
more Bean films.

I thought the film was quite funny myself, and was very similar to the comedy in the TV show.
It is important to remember that the first film was aimed at the Americans, whilst Mr Beans Holiday is aimed at the Brits and the rest of Europe! Hence the reason for it been released uch later in the US. The film has performed extremely well in the box office, so it can't be that bad.

I'm in the US too. I love the original TV show first and foremost, and the first Bean movie was really funny. Bean's Holiday had some hilarious moments, but I didn't like it quite as much as the show or the first movie. Of course I want more Bean though. Can never get enough of it.

They made it too childish.

Mr Beans holiday movie was mostly filmed for the german market i believe... Bean is far more popular in germany that it is is England.

Anyway, Blackadder and NtNo'CN are the only decent things he's done.

The bean series and the movie BEAN were hilarious i think, but Mr.Beans holiday was just too childish and just wasn't the same Mr.bean.

Mr. Bean Holiday Childish?
Excuse me, have you seen any episode of Mr. Bean series, THE CHARACTER IS CHILDISH HIMSELF, what did you expected, him saving the world?
Him being serious and perfoming a shakespeare kind of role?
PLEASE.
He was more Mr. Bean than ever, this movie was more like the series than Bean, where him talking was already a very bad idea, and not to say that was very far away the concept of the series, where HE is the main character, not like in the movie Bean where he appears, but is not always the center of the action.

His character really doesn't work as a feature film. I think here the problem was that the story was sort of dumb. There were some good moments, but not enough.
