is he really a nice guy or does he just play nice characters?

Back to the future, casualties of war, life with mikey, doc hollywood, the secret of my success, in all those movies I saw him in, they all seemed like the same character! Is that just him?

he is being recognized and reported as a very true and nice person and a great friend. not because he speaks on robin williams, there are a lot of people saying MJF is really very nice.

I have to say, sometimes he is very nice but most of the time he is
in a very bad mood. I think meeting his audience really stresses
him out,he doesn't know how to handle it well still. In the US some
years ago he participated in many movie surveys for the company I worked with.
He does get very mad if you talk to him for 5 min. or more or if you run into
him ocassionally in places. He doesn't want to befriend his viewers.
I just don't run into him anymore.

He's a Canadian... and Canadians are just generally nice people. We apologize for everything, even when there's nothing to be sorry for!

I have met 2 people from Canada, one lady a week ago and she was polite.
Anyone from any country can be kind if they want to,I think he likes to
play nice characters.

I would bet that is mostly related to his parkinsons disease. It takes a lot of effort to even speak.

Yes, OP, he is really that nice. I've met him numerous times while working in production, and although as he's aged he doesn't spend as much time with crew, he's always really great to those around him.
