Is he really that sick?

A disease that makes you shake doesn't seem like a particular threat to life to me. Maybe it's not that he's really sick with it but that he's weighed down by it. Shit is embarrassing too.

It does more than make you shake. It killed my best friend’s father

Yes, he's really that sick. Parkinson's is a very serious disease, and you live with it until you die. He got it at a really young age. Most people with it don't get the disease until they're much older.

Parkinson's is a progressive brain disease. It starts by affecting areas that control some of the automatic functions of the brain and has some innocuous symptoms like insomnia, constipation, dizziness, indigestion... People start noticing something is wrong when it spreads to the areas that control movement. But it keeps progressing to affect areas involved in memory and thoughts. Sometimes, seizures occur and the brain loses the ability to control it's activity. Cardiac arrhythmias can occur as the control of the cardiovascular system is lost. If someone survives that, progressive organ failure can ensure.
It can progress at different rates in different people but can often take decades before killing the person.

reply

It's kust poor genetics, nothing more.
