River's father
Longtime River fan, but not posted here in years. I just wondered if you guys had heard anything about River's father, John.
I randomly came across this from a few years ago:

If this is true, I had NO IDEA that River and the Phoenix siblings had another half-sister via John. This is certainly news to me.
I'm also wondering if anyone can confirm John is still living? I saw in another thread and elsewhere on the internet that he passed away last summer from cancer??
