Mimi Rogers vs. Michelle Pfeiffer

Under the title Feuds, Rivalries & Hatreds they mention Mimi Rogers vs. Michelle Pfeiffer... Anyone knows why?

reply

Maybe Mimi was jealous of Michelle.

reply

Mimi wins hands down due to her magnificent mams and her willingness to disrobe.

Maybe they were up for the same part once so that website automatically assumes they were bitter enemies. I do know that Mimi after "The Rapture," Mimi was suddenly back on everyone's radar and was very seriously considered for Scorcese's "Casino"--but Sharon Stone (who'd just done "Basic Instinct") got the role, no doubt because she was the bigger name at the time. (In fact the rumor was that she had the role, until SS started campaigning for it.) Stone was good but I still think it's a crime that Mimi didn't get the part, which presumably would have led to other A-list roles. She's had a decent career but it would have been great to see what she could have done with some Oscar-caliber parts. (That she didn't get a nomination for "The Rapture" is another crime, but then smaller movies like that rarely get noticed by the Academy.)

In an interview, Mimi said that Michelle's role in WOLF was a nothing part - the sort of role she would have taken because she had no choice and wondered by Michelle had taken it. Michelle Pfeiffer presumably took offense.

reply

Oh, that makes sense. Actually I remember thinking that it WAS a nothing part but that Pfeiffer managed to make it fairly interesting.

I just watched the Larry Sanders episode with Mimi Rogers (the Flirt Episode) and at the end, after Larry's wife forgives him for flirting with Mimi, Larry tries to turn off the show before she can hear that Michelle Pfeiffer is his next guest. Another link between the two.

Appatrently sharon stone was also considered for wolf and turned it down to do the specialist. I think pfeifer took it even though the film was a shwocase for jack nicholson's charachter. She probably took it due to the talent atteached nicholson who she worked with before, Mike nichols who is a respected director since he started in the 60s with the oscar winning who's afraid of virgina wolf?

Not to mention the other cast christopher plummer, kate nelligan( she worked with her 3 times) and james spader.
