What a strange theory. The entire show was based on Wahlburg's life. But it was never an honest biography. It was a story based on his experiences and that of others. It was a larger than life tale. Similar to "Episodes" with Matt LeBlanc (also a very entertaining show). I don't think it influenced the general public.
Just like "Dexter" didn't inspire people to become serial killers.
