Karen disappointed in Kingdom of the Skull

The idea of putting her back in the Indiana Jones franchise was definitely a winner but her performance did not fulfill the otherwise expected potential.

Marion is no doubt the best heroine in a movie ever, but sadly she overacted in the latest installment and was no longer the old gal I fell for in Raiders. Her acting was unpolished and just not believable. Little too much like a theater performance. An example is when she drives over the cliff: A crazy and daring stunt in all respect and she just sits there smiling like a dumb blond, which we all know she is not. She is still beautiful but her performance disappointed and the power and pure awesomeness of Marion Ravenwood is sadly still only in Raiders of the lost Ark.

I'm with you half way on that. She did overact (the director should have told her to ease up), but I don't think she was that bad.

Never mind her performance... the whole movie did not fulfill the otherwise expected potential.

Of course shes dissapointed!! She got a bum rap on the film!

You don't just cast Marion ravenwood as a secondary character with the same lines she had from the past movies!!
You take that character and maker her valuable, witty, resourceful firecracker she has always been to Indy!!
Why on earth that film was released in theates? I don't know, it would have been better as a one hour reunion television special on NBC!!

I just really hated what they did to these great characters. Not to mention shoty overlybright cinematography!!

Considering that this movie included a scene of Shia LeBoeuf randomly communicating with monkeys telepathically, I'd say that Karen Allen's performance was the least of its problems.

Your comment made me rewatch it :-) Not fair though. Yes the monkeys seem to help him exclusively, like they would Tarzan - but there is no telepathic mumbo-jumbo in the story telling (in this case), more like a fluke or a bandwagon effect of him swinging in the lianas.

yeah that makes sense - I was swinging through the jungle the other day and the monkeys became my best friends
