James Cromwell on 'ER'

I just wanted to say that Cromwell did an excellent job playing the dying bishop on ER. I think he was on for 3 or 4 episodes. He played the character with grace and humanity. He helped relieve Dr.Kovac of his burden and helped him find some faith again after what happened to his family.

Great performance on ER. I did think, his performance in RKO 281 was at par, if not slightly better. RKO 281 is the one where he plays William Randolph Hearst, and Hearst sues Orson Welles (Liev Schrieber) and other producer- John Malkovich.

Agreed- his ER stint is his best role (from what I've seen; obviously I haven't seen all his roles).

I agree - the storyline with Luka and the Bishop was one of my favourite of the entire series. James Cromwell was excellent and I remember one specific scene where he talks about being afraid to die - an incredible scene - he did such a wonderful job.
