Cromwell was brilliant as G Herbert Walker Bush

Totally in a agreement with the commenter who thought that James Cromwell was A+ No.1 ....a highlight of the movie....as "W's" father. If GHWB really did act like that (continuously pointing out how 'disappointed' he was in Junior and how upstanding "JEB" was).........you can really understand that this both infuriated and motivated young "W."

I am really not sure how to evaluate actors from a purely 'acting' perspective...either you believe them as the character they are portraying or you don't.......and I definitely 'believed' Cromwell. My other fave Cromwell character is of course as the superbad guy/ironically good 'cop' that he portrayed in LA Confidential........

I only saw a few episodes of "Six Feet Under" hope to see more of the DVDs of that show someday.

I believe that Cromwell gave the show-stopping performance in W., and that's saying a lot in a movie featuring such pros as Josh Brolin, Bruce McGill, Toby Jones, and Richard Dreyfus.

He was great in LA Confidential, but I loved his Prince Philip even more because it seemed so wickedly accurate, just like his Poppy Bush.
