Broke & famous

I listened to a podcast with him about his comeback and simultaneously being broke and unemployed. Darren Aronofsky gifted Mickey Rourke a comeback in 2008/09 that was short lived. Brendan Fraser comeback looks to be even shorter. However internet claims the following:

Fraser is said to have been paid $12 million for the lead role of Charlie—a gay white man who tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter while suffering a myriad of health problems due to his morbid obesity.

I wonder if he was that well paid.

Contrary to prior reports that Mickey Rourke didn't get paid at all to appear in this film (which would have been a violation of union rules), a profile of Darren Aronofsky in the March 17, 2014, issue of the New Yorker mentioned that Rourke did end up being paid a hundred thousand dollars for the role!
