Why did she give up acting?

Was surprised to find out the last movie she did was in 2002!

reply

It's been a while, but she IS almost 70. Maybe she just retired?

reply

But she wasn't almost 70 when she quit acting. She was only in her late 50s, then.I don't think it makes any sense that she quit. She probably just lost interest in it. But in that case, I'm surprised she didn't announce a formal retirement – not that I like it when actors draw attention to that sort of thing, but I'm surprised no one has asked her about this. And if they have, I certainly haven't heard of it.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

She's widely known to have horrible body odor. That could be part of it. Once her amazing looks started to fade, they were no longer enough to compensate for the B.O. issue, and she stopped getting work.

body odour??

is that a joke??

reply

Discrimination? It's harder for older actresses to get work. Notice how they pair up older actors with women half their age?

reply

I didn't know that either. I'd heard it was true of Julia Roberts from a few co-stars.

Apparently Britney Spears has bad feet, Brad Pitt smells real bad and rarely showers according to both Jolie and Aniston and Goldie Hawn's is quite well documented on some articles I Googled like this one:

I tweeted her this very question in 2012 or 2013 and she actually replied. She says she has been focused on MindUp (which is an educational program she wants to introduce in schools) and her spirituality. She said she had no plans to return to the big screen. It was short but she seemed so very sweet and thanked me for enjoying her films over the year.

And with such a well cited/researched/you're article there's just NO room for doubt there!
