Plans were once in place for Michael Keaton's Batman to serve in a similar role as Nick Fury in the MCU. Here's why these plans eventually fell through.

there is no Nick Fury type character in DC. Unless you count Amanda Waller and there's no way they would ever allow that to go to Keaton.

Justice League Superman & Batman are exactly that character, depending on the story being told, unfortunately that doesn't come across in most of the TV & Movie adaptations that tend to showcase other characters. Or perhaps just done on purpose to spite us? I don't know.

Due to his iconic status, Michael Keaton could have served as a Samuel L. Jackson's counterpart for DC Comics-based Extended Universe, is I think what the article meant to say or perhaps did.

They screwed Keaton over. I just hope he was compensated well.

Probably just paid him for The Flash (and Batgirl). I imagine he made about 10m
