Criminal Minds 11/7/2012

I don't see Matthew's work listed on his imdb page from his work on this week's episode of Criminal Minds. As soon as I saw his name as a guest star, I was pretty stoked. I haven't seen everything that Matthew has done, but he is just so memorable in what I have seen. He does a great job with all sorts of dimensions and layers...and he does comedy as well as he does creepy or vulnerable or dramatic. I suppose that a part of me will ALWAYS remember him EXACTLY as he was in the first Scream film. That and his bit part in "If These Walls Could Talk." He really is just that memorable. So, I was taken off guard to suddenly see this very grown-up, manly, heavier-set (NOT "fat" just bigger/not as tall and lanky) Matthew Lillard. In his episode of CM, he looks every bit the part that he's playing. If I didn't know it was him and I were to see him on the street as he looks and was styled on CM, I would totally take him for a middle-aged creeper type. Good for him for playing and looking the part! I still think he is adorable, charismatic and so damn talented.

This brings to mind that I had a similar reaction when I saw Matthew's Scream co-star Jamie Kennedy on Criminal Minds a few years back. Wow! He was virtually unrecognizable and he gave a very icky, chilling performance.

Anyway, just some random thoughts...Wondering if anyone else caught Matthew on CM?

I did and couldn't believe how much he'd aged. I wanted to see if anyone else had seen him on CM as well.

I saw him on Criminal Minds as well. He was good but I couldn't get over how much he had changed. I guess I still remember him like he was when I saw him in Scream in high school. It just was another reminder that high school was a looooong time ago.
