Worst foreign accent voice ever

Anytime he has to portray a character with a foreign accent he fails miserably. He just sounds like an American with a monotone voice trying to deliver lines with an accent. It's pitiful. Examples:

- Beowulf - ugh, horrid.
- Man In the Iron Mask - you call that a french accent?
- Jonah Hex - I know the movie was crap but did your pathetic "southern accent" have to be crap too?
- Rounders - worst Russian accent ever. Ever.

I honestly could go on but you guys get the idea.

I'm pretty certain that in 'the man in the iron mask' he wasn't even attempting a French accent. Like Leo de Caprio and Jeremy Irons he was speaking in his own voice. He wasn't aiming for French and therefore it didn't come out that way. (!)

I haven't seen the other films so can't comment. But I've often criticised American actors for their crappy forign accents - except for Robert Downey Jnr.

Uh, you can add Secretariat to your list...
Wow...it was painful to watch him play a french canadian...in some parts of the film he had a laid back californian accent and others, a slight french accent and then really bad french. Yikes!
I love him but this was awful.

Thing is the he pretty much sounds exactly the same in every movie, wheather he tries to or not lol.

But yeah, for Man in the Iron Mask, he wasn't even attempting any accent besides his own=P

His South African accent in Disgrace was pretty awful but still a great actor.

Let's not forget Shadow of the Vampire, too. I look forward to his bad accents because that's part of what I find entertaining about him. I love that about Tim Curry, too. Lol

His accent in Of Mice and Men was perfect, though.
