Most underrated actor

He's about one of the most talented actors I've seen in Hollywood... He gets fully involved with his characters and he wells up in emotion with such intensity.. Probably better than 70% of most male leads.. I just never really figured out why he doesn't get many big lead roles.. His performances in Boiler Room and The Gift probably impressed me the most.. Anyone else agree?

Yep, I agree. Except I think his best roles to date are in Saving Private Ryan and Shot In The Heart, but he really puts his all into every role he plays. Amazing actor.

In Private Ryan, the scene where he talks about his mother when he was home was so well done by him. He took a dramatic beat and it was felt throughout the movie.

Deserves an Oscar. I don't care for what movie - it's overdue.

Yeah, I can't understand why he has never even been nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globe. He is terrific in pretty much everything.

Haven't seen Boiler Room or The Gift, but my latest favourite is Heaven (where he speaks not-so-bad Italian, just as in the pretty unknown Love's Brother) and I can keep watching the segment in The Dead Girl that he's in, over and over.

I really enjoyed him in Flight of the Phoenix. ~ Movies don't create psychos; movies make psychos more creative! ~
