Not that I don't like her, I think she's a superb actress, but I seem to remember reading that she is a mega-bitch and people have refused to work with her.

shareWhere did you hear that? I have read many articles about her, and there are many first hand interviews on www.madeleineonline.com from her co-workers, and never have I been given the impression that Madeleine Stowe is anything but a kind, friendly, professional person.
sharei met her once at an airport and she was very friendly. I took a picture with her and she was very nice about me asking. She even engaged in a small conversation with me too. If she was a biatch she wouldn't have been soo polite.

On Madeleineonline there's a 30 second clip of her being caught as she's getting in her car by paparazzi. She's nothing if not deferential and pleasant to the jerks.
Also, in the 12 Monkeys "making of" documentary, director Gilliam specifically wanted her for her professionalism, which in the world of ego-driven "stars" must mean something.
And if you read her passionate political articles from the 2008 Democratic campaign, or follow her work in her aid junkets to Haiti (even before the earthquake), you have to admire what of her real personality she lets us see.
It's not for us to even be worrying about it, IMHO.
Like most of you, we should just hope she gets back on-screen soon, or at least as voice over for some Disney or Pixar movies with that wonderful, earthy voice that I've been reading about on this board, that others also wildly compliment!
I thought I was the only one who liked her voice!

Love her voice - don't know what it is. Very sexy, but not trashy - emotive.
shareDrew Barrymore, way waaaaaaay back in '94 or '95, had an interview with Movieline magazine in which she discussed tensions on the "Bad Girls" set, then made a point to say something nice about Andie MacDowell and Mary Stuart Masterson but omitted mentioning anything about Madeleine Stowe. The writer noted the omission in such a way that it made Stowe seem like the cause of the problems.
I always assumed that was the source of the negative rumors about Stowe, which seems a little unfair since it's only one side of the story, but at the same time she rarely gets work, which would support the idea that she's difficult to work with.
