17 years dead

So crazy how fast time moves. It feels like yesterday I was a member of jonathanbrandis.org memorial fan site in 2005, just a few years after his death. The site was filled with fans but also a few nutjobs. There was a person claiming to be a psychic medium channeling him through the keyboard. They hung around the Internet for years. Here too and on Facebook. Also YouTube. I’ve not seen them post anything for a few years now so many they’ve finally given up.

Between psychic mediums claiming to be channeling him, people who claimed they were like a personal body guard and told almost perverse stories about their relationship that was clearly fake, to people claiming he faked his death, there has always been a kind of strangeness surrounding his death. Not from him himself, but others.
