So underrated

Look, I know that none of his movies will ever make it onto any critically-reviewed Top 10 lists, but I always will have a special place in my heart for him. And before anyone says it: yes, it's quite a large space, but only because he was a large talent.

Same. He was a fine actor. And when people use terms like 'the bees' knees' (do bees have knees?) John Candy is probably the only person that comes to mt mind in relation to it.

His comic brilliance is there for all to see, Planes, Trains & Automobiles still remains one of the funniest comedies on film for me.

The day John died, I was deeply struck and moved by how truly sad the broadcasters delivering that news were, actually allowing their personal sense of loss come through in their down-turned faces and choking voices. I’d seen these same folks report the deaths of world leaders, Popes and Household Names, and always with professional reserve. Not this time. This time, the story came from their hearts. I can’t think of a more moving tribute to a human being. RIP, John Candy.
