I would love to see him play Manson.

Anyone else? After I saw him in Rescue Dawn, and more after I saw him on Justified, I really think he'd be the best Charles Manson ever. Except for the real one.

You are aware that he played Manson in Helter Skelter (2004), right? And yes, he was excellent in it.

reply

Yeah, I came here just to see if anyone else thought that he based Dickie Bennett on Manson regarding looks and mannerisms.

Thanks!

Did you ever get to see it. I found it on youtube and just watched it. I read that he had done some video of himself doing Manson and submitted it to the people and he got the role. I also read that he immersed himself in watching and studying manson's many interviews and listened to it almost 24 hrs a day maybe even in his sleep. No wonder I saw a thread on here where they said he plays the same character in everything he does. They too said that he reminded them of Manson and lo and behold found out he did do Manson in a movie. Ive never heard of him before until I just watched the Manson movie. I do admit he had the vocal inflections and mannerisms down very well, but others who have seen the 1976 film and this one still think that Steve Railsback in the 1976 film is the best Mason and I do recall when I saw that film I was so spooked by him. He was so convincing as someone that was crazy and eerie. What I found an interesting coincidence is that Jeremy though was born in 1969 the same year the murders took place.

I first saw him in Lost and immediately thought he looked just like a skinny little Charles Manson.

a skinny little Charles MansonExcept Davies has 7" on the 5-2 Manson. And he did a phenomenal job as Manson.

Steve Railsback in 1976 did a much better job since he wasn't as enamoured of Manson as Davies apparently is. On the audio commentary for "Solaris" director Stephen Soderberg said he was "training" for Manson while filming "Solaris" and Davies tended to use that for the character of Snow. Soderberg found him "affected". I found it irritating particularly after seeing him as Manson. Railsback saw Manson for what he was: A faker and played him that way.

There were times during this movie I forgot I was not watching the real Manson.

Best portrayal of a real person I've ever seen in a film.

Steve Railsback was better.

I was thinking that he should have had the part of Manson in this new Aquarius TV show. but then I looked down at his IMDB acting list and found out that he did play Manson in a 2004 TV movie version of Helter Skelter just before he was in Lost. Damn it.
