But I think it serves the role. Terrible white make up. Makes him look so old.

I don't think he looks tired and haggard at all on AHS. In fact, I keep thinking he looks younger on AHS than he did on Camelot. His face does look more pale and pasty though, you're right, but I have a feeling that's his natural complexion and not just makeup because Ralph has pretty fair skin too.
