best known for playing slimy characters


if a director wants to have a slimy backstabbing character in their film who usually ends up dead in the last 10 mins well Tony Goldwyn is the man
i've only seen him in ghost, 6th day and the last samurai and has all the elements of what i just said

I wonder why he likes playing villains so much. He has fine talent (if you've seen AN AMERICAN RHAPSODY and Disney's TARZAN), but he's basically painted himself into a corner professionally.

I hope he gets a great role quick.

Check him up in the upcoming "Ghosts Never Sleep". He plays the hell out of a very sympathetic good guy.

Also check out The Boys Next Door, in which he plays a social worker who takes care of a group of mentally retarded men and wants to move on with his life. Another likable performance.

Most actors would love to be painted into a corner of being a go-to guy for certain types of roles. Many accomplished and award-winning (and even beknighted) actors take typecast roles to get a paycheck.
