Did she ever audition for Goodfellas?

Karen Hill was supposed to be around 21. Lorraine Bracco was in her late 30s. Everytime I see that movie I can't help thinking Nancy Mckeon would've been perfect.

It's not that I don't trust you, it's the devil in you that I don't trust.

"Goodfellas" spanned at least a decade of Henry and Karen Hill's marriage, and a lot of it was when Lorraine Bracco was more than age appropriate for her character. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her peformance. My guess is it was the right casting decision and that a girl from "Facts of Life" wouldn't have delivered for Scorsese like Lorraine did.

Just because she was on a TV show doesn't mean anything. Many actors get their start in TV. On that show, she was the only breakout star, and with that New Yawk accent, and that look, Goodfellas would've been the role to make her a movie star. Oh well, that's Hollywood.

I'm so glad she didn't. Not Italian looking and knowing her personality she wouldn't be able to do the accent.

Wasn't everyone in Goodfellas rather older than the parts they were playing?

DeNiro's entry into the movie had him pegged at "no older than 28" yet IRL he was already in his mid 40s. Same goes for Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta who were well over 10 years older than their characters.

That being said, Lorraine's age didn't really affect the perception of her character's age since the other actors were relatively older than the parts they were portraying.

HOWEVER, it would have been cool to see Nancy play a part of a Henry's entourage or "cookers" when he was doing his cocaine business. Debbi Mazar was perfect in her role but Nancy could have fit somewhere in there, maybe even playing a goomah to Henry to Tommy.
