My chance meeting with Judge

I just happened to stumble onto Judge's board here, and it brought to mind my encounter with him circa 2003. I was working at a bookstore in the San Fernando Valley, and I was up at the counter putting something away when from behind I heard a voice say "Excuse me." I turned around, and lo and behold (well, you know who it was). He needed help finding a book, and as I was taking him over to a particular section of the store, I couldn't help myself--I told him that his film "Vice Versa" was a favorite of mine growing up (I'm 27 now) and that seeing him play the drums in that film was what inspired me to learn how to play myself. He was very kind and appeared appreciative of what I told him. We chatted for a bit about his experience of working with Fred Savage, etc. on that film. Anyway, it was cool experience--just wanted to throw it out there.

is he a real judge?

reply

No--according to Judge's imdb trivia section, "Judge" was a nickname given to him as a very young child by his dad.

oh so his name is Ed? I did not know this!

reply

do you know the name of the cartoon series Judge Reinhold provided the voice for where he was a bit of a drug dealer and had a pet weasel?

reply

no, what was that?

reply

Yeah, he's really judge. Went to law school & everything. He's just been doing professional acting for the last 27 years as a side thing. You can usually find him at either the Van Nuys Court or Downtown Court, where he usually hears his cases......

wow, thanks for the info!!!

Good answer, but I fear the sarcasm is wasted on anyone stupid enough to ask a question like that in the first place.
