Jeanne Dielman is an excellent film. I doubt political correctness had anything to do with it.

I agree with his assessment. There's one reason it jumped from #35 to #1.

More egregiously it wasn't even in the top 100 director voted list back in 2012 and made it all the way up to joint 4th in the director voted 2022 list. Talk about a massive jump!

From what I've been hearing they more than doubled the people who were polled compared to the 2012 list. Some reckon they've purposely added more women and POC to the voters list to diversify the voting base and that is what caused this 'woke' shake up in the S&S best films list.

Women and POC voting for more films dealing with issues they consider important (feminism, racism) that were directed by people like themselves.
