Estimate How Much $$$ He Makes for Small Venue Comedy Shows??

Caught him a few weeks back performing 1 of 9 shows in Indianapolis, he was hilarious. It was really odd to hear him get raw and talk about some crazy *beep* His son Damon Jr. (or "DEE JUNE", that's what Damon calls him) was pretty damn good as well. There was another guy that was traveling with them that I felt sorry for before he ever got up there. I thought he would struggle being in the shadow of Damon Wayans and his son, but he was AWESOME. Definitely the best NEW material out of all three of them. Don't get me wrong, Damon's were the *beep* but this other kid had some good chops. He was a former marine in his mid twenties.

Anyway, it was unbelieveably cool to see Damon Wayans in a club that seated 250 people tops. I don't think anyone felt shorted.....besides Damon. How in the world does he make good money doing those gigs? I apologize for getting in to his biz if he ever reads this, but at $30 a head, doing 6 shows during a weekend stay and selling out all of them, assuming that every person spends $20-$30 (two drink min.), that mean the club had $90,000 (at $30.00 a head in drinks and food, which is WAY too low for some of the drunks around me), so let's just round that up to $100K....

I wonder how much of that the house keeps, and how much they are cutting out for the three comedians. One thing I assume is that Damon is getting the Lion's share, or should because he was the only reason they sold out six shows in a row (Sorry "Dee June")...I would hope he got at least 35-40% of the entire take, but I'm curious as to how that works. Does anyone know?

Not so sure they do it for the money at Damon's stage of the game. He probably is just keeping fresh, working a room etc. Doing stand up is like lifting weights, if you stop your muscles weaken and atrophy. He's probably just working out, hanging with his son and showing him some ropes and having fun.

$30.00x250people=$7500.00 not $90,000.00
$30.00x3000people=$90,000.00 you have way over estimated the amount.

I think he had it right, he said 6 shows during the weekend! I assume 6 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday.

$30 x 250 = $7,500 x 12 = $90,000.00

sombody of Damon fame would be able to work a contract of at least 40% to 60% of the door. You can ether devide it evening between the 3 acts or the more realistic,

For arguements sake, lets say they get 50% from the door

Of that 50% the opening act would most likly get 10% so 10% of 50%
and I would imagine Damon and his son would split the rest 45%/45%
