What should he make after Noah... please don't say a comic book movie

I want Noah to be the closest thing he ever comes to a comic book movie. Let that be his super hero movie and lets move on. Aronofsky's an auteur, let's keep him more in the art world. Chris Nolan can make the super hero stuff, we don't need to loose another genius to Hollywood.
I sure hope he next movies are The General, The Tiger, Nexus and then that bank heist movie I heard about. Its a true story of the largest heist in Europes history. I think it might be called Breaking the Bank. I'd also like to see him direct Machine Man. Highly unlikely he'll even do more than a couple of these. He was attached to direct each of them at one point though.

I agree. I was disappointed to learn he was interested in comic book stuff, and even wrote an early Batman script. I'd like to see him continue to make stuff like he has done so far in his career. By that I mean not sell out and make big budget action or comic book movies. I first heard of the project he was attached to for a while, The Tiger, and it sounded very interesting. I think this was even before Black Swan, and I was hoping he would make it next. And then he decided to make Noah next.

The Tiger does sound very interesting. I think most people want to see that happen next. Especially if Brad Pitt is still attached to play the lead. Pitt doesn't have a whole lot on his schedule coming up either.
The General would be my next choice.

He should make a porno next. Pick up on that unfinished porno that Stanley Kubrick never made

An adaptation of Doctor Zhivago the musical. To those who aren't familiar. Here's some footage:

There's nothing wrong with comic books at all, or anyone whos into them. I just think there's plenty of directors who can do those. There's very few who can do what Aronofsky does in the "art" world. He'll be able to give the world so much more if he steers clear of Hollywood. I see every blockbuster he does as a waste of 5 years... unless its one that is grown inside his own head, like Noah or like Inception for Nolan. I don't want to see him do other peoples blueprint at all for some reason.

By the way, I happened to see on his twitter where he said the script and drawings of Batman Year One aren't from him or Frank Miller. His Year One movie wouldn't be what everyone seems to think.
