Wan...Pale...Sick (?)
Love PL. But I was just surfing through some Mod Squad ep's on You Tube and I noticed that in quite a few she seems sick and drained... just not to "into" the scenes... and (just a personal feeling) in some of these ep's it's as if the writers bowed to her (hypothetical) condition by writing very few lines for her.
I can't really date these shows relative to how long she had been acting in MS, but one that sticks out for me is the popular ep with Richard Dreyfuss as a sort of unbalanced inventor-genius. Peggy looks like she's dragging herself through every scene, except the one in her apartment where she is scripted to speak many lines consecutively. Other than that, she kind of floats through the show like a beautiful phantom.
Has anyone else noticed this? Could she have been using/overusing recreational drugs or alcohol (the era practically demanded it)... or was she depressed or anemic...or something? Once my eye caught her "wan-ness", it actually became distracting because I would catch her being sort of pale and recessive in other MS shows...
