But you'd praise him to the heavens is someone asked him to wear a mask and he refused. I'm not sure I'd want to hang out with Bill, but I think he's a pretty good dude. It took me a while to get there because on certain of his shows he sounded like a Right-wing loonie, but you have to realize he has to try to appeal to both sides to keep his broad audience, and he does a damn good job.
Last week was a good example when he had Fareed Zakaria and former Sec of Def Mark Esper on and they both agreed with Liz Cheney that the country take 4 more years of supposed incompetence with Joe Biden, but we probably would not survive 4 years of Trump. I think this is truer than most Republicans would like to believe and that Trump puts on a good show, but he is really turning a lot of Republicans off.
By the way, that is not Bill's basement, it is his ADU, Accessory Dwelling Unit, another house or maybe his pool house, but it is not underground. It is where he used to do his show during the pandemic, except for the time he met Jay Leno, his neighbor, in his backyard.
Bill infuriates everyone a little, that's his super-power.

I'd suggest you not make suppositions about people you know nothing about (I disagree with Maher and his stances on masks and COVID). I also believe he overwhelmingly cherry-picks his data and is one of those who fails to accept that hindsight is 20/20.
To me, the asking of Americans to wear a mask was a minor thing to ask in a crisis. Especially when compared to the sacrifices Americans used to make when it came to the common good.
And Jesus, does one have to comment EVERYTHING is not literal. Calling it his "basement" was descriptive or metaphorical. Who gives a fuck if it is Maher's basement or not. Big deal.
Still, his growth as a smug, little, whiny-Trump bitch is daily and Steve-o's experience clearly shows it (and I find that guy an irritating little shit).

That did not hurt you or insult you, and glad you disagree. Maher is not an expert on anything scientific, and sometimes his takes on medical stuff and vaccines are crazier than RFKjr.
Basement has an insulting and negative connotation.
I do find him irritating sometimes, but not enough to go crazy about.
