Guy Ritchie is a foreign movie director that has come to America to work. He`s originally from the country of London.
He owns a bar called Lore of the Land that is purchased with US dollars. A buck goes a long way there. For some silly reason we, Americans, need a passport to go there, overseas. Anyway in this bar if you proclaim “I’m an American” you can eat and drink for free, its gratis, all the way. They absolutely love people from the US there. The beer is also very good. Great ambiance in that bar. Upstairs is a restaurant and there as well you can eat and drink gratis of you let the staff know your American.
I stayed at the Langham Court Hotel - Gem Hotels close by. Looked like a hotel you would find in DTLA but it was doable. I hung out at the Lore of the Land most of the time. Had a god time, paid nothing. The perks of being American overseas.
Stay away from the subway as it contained too much riffraff.
